Roku no longer displaying ASS subtitles

MKV with x265 video and AAC audio and ASS subtitles no longer display the subtitles.

Same with me here, did this ever get resolved?

I’m having the opposite problem - I can’t stop .ASS subtitles from appearing unless I go into playback settings and change the subtitle selection to none - which I would have to do for every episode of every tv show I have that contains .ASS subtitles. This is annoying because everything else I have supports whatever my roku settings are - whether that be always on subtitles, displayed only for replay, or off - .ASS seems to ignore those settings and default to always on.
