Roku App on Roku Ultra subtitles not displaying correctly

I’ve noticed the subtitles have stopped displaying on my Roku device. No subtitles for all videos. Only way to get subtitles is to rewind, click play…but they will only display for a few minutes (at most) and then will stop displaying again. Please advise.

I can only get subtitles to work on the roku client when captions are set to always on within the settings on the roku itself (outside of plex). Worth a try to see if it fixes your problem.

You’ll see subtitles are enabled for ‘Replay’ - like when you back up and only for a short time.

Turn subs on or off via the * key - while a video is playing.
Yes - once enabled they’ll be on for everything on your Roku - hit * to adjust as necessary.

The change wasn’t exactly embraced by the Roku community, but Roku took care of that by removing the community - and just like Plex/TVDB - once a thing has been developed to perfection - all that’s left is for us to ‘get used to it’.
