Roku Player Only Connecting to Plex by Relay

I just recently discovered that my roku can’t access Plex without going through the relay. I think the issue started about a week ago when I added in the eero mesh wifi to get wifi upstairs… but can’t be sure. I’ve tried the following to fix the issue:

  1. Switched from wired connection to the router/modem combo and tried the router/modem wifi and the eero network - neither worked

  2. Disabled relay option in Plex - Plex won’t connect at all

  3. Restarted Roku and plex server and cleared network settings on roku - did not work

Note: Eero is in bridge mode and netgear nighthawk router/modem is in router mode

I can not get the roku to recognize it’s on the same network - will only go through the relay and it appears that my friend’s server is also going through the relay.

What am I missing?
