A friend is connected to my server. He uses a Roku Express 4K. Video > Remote Quality is set to Original.
When he’s at home, just a few miles away, the Plex client works as expected. Plex plays in as high a video quality as possible. Transcoding when required.
They go South in the winter, Arizona, I am in Canada.
Whenever he starts an episode or movie Plex defaults to playing at 320kbps. He can manually change the setting back to Original and it will play at a higher quality.
It’s not a Remote Access issue as it will play above the limitations of the Plex Relay. No other users are having the issue and he doesn’t have a problem at home using the same Roku stick.
Any ideas on why it would default to playing at 320kbps and how to prevent it?
