Roku Ultra 2022 exits Plexn and video slows then freezes audio continues remote nonresponsibe

I’m still trying to understand and it has been years since I posted an issue (great job dev team!)

I have two symptoms that seem related. About 1 out of 5 played shows the audio continues playing normally and video playback starts playing in slow motion so within 2 seconds video looks paused, but audio plays normally. The remote didn’t respond as in no effort on Plex 4 to 5 seconds later I might get a new frame frozen, or Plex exits to Roku channel menu.

The other thing that happens 1 out of 10 plays Plex just exits to Roku menu.

This happens on Plex as well as Plex preview.

Im disabled so difficult to do things, but wanted to set if this was a defective unit or are others seeing this problem? I searched here and didn’t find anything .

Any help is appreciated.

Roku ultra 2022.

I know there are some general memory issues the team is working on. However as far as I know those are mostly all related to navigation, though it could be. Do you know what version of Plex preview you are running? Are the videos you are playing high bitrate files or all with same codecs?

It happens to various shows , some are low bitrate. I upgraded from older ultra Roku to newest. That is when problems started. I kept thinking like all other things Plex, it will get solved . It happens with current Plex as well as Plex preview, through all updates rolled out to both versions since Dec 10,2023.

This was most recent. You can see my high end server is keeping up with anything played. I have managed 1 gig switches, server and client are both on 1 gig connection (Roku only does 100mb) happenes on Roku with wifi and with Ethernet. I have zero packet loss or errors on all interfaces. There are no broadcast storms. It doesn’t happen on other Roku devices. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Plex channels,I have rebooted the Roku 70+times. I left settings alone on Roku after installing the channel, still happened.

Other shows are sd with 1m bitrate, happenes with those as well.

My old Roku didn’t have this problem, but it did have a dirty or bad HDMI port , I got this new one to resolve it after trying cleaning and new certified cables didn’t fix it.

Currently v on 70.0.27.8234 2d298efdc-plex preview.

Thanks for any help. Anything else I can provide that would help?

Examples. It sometimes happens in the first couple minutes, but more often a few minutes before the end.
