Brief Random Audio Dropouts

I have been running plex for quite sometime with zero issues on Windows. Recently I switched over to the server running on Linux. I’ve noticed that while watching some videos the audio will drop out briefly (like 1 second) at random times. The video never lags, stutters, or buffers. Just the audio drops out.

I am using a ROKU 4k ultra to stream plex media to my TV.

I am at a loss on how to troubleshoot this issue. Can someone give me some ideas on how to troubleshoot this as it’s very frustrating to no longer be able to watch media anymore with this audio issue.

I’m experiencing the same issue. Windows Plex server. This only happens on my Roku Ultra and only on the Plex app. Streaming on other Roku apps (Amazon, CBS, Netflix) works fine, and Plex on Apple TV works fine - no audio drops. Very frustrating, I’m considering getting rid of the Roku altogether (although I really like it otherwise - especially the remote).

What troubleshooting have you done? I’m at a loss where to even start the troubleshooting efforts at.

Same here, for probably 2-3 months, ever since Roku had a major update.

There was a thread on it quite awhile back, let me see if I can dig it up.

Here it is. Seems like a Roku bug, and workaround for the moment is to disable Direct Play.

This is exactly the reason I also have an Apple TV and Fire TV cube. When some app doesn’t work right, I have a couple backups.
