It’s a Synology server running the latest available Plex server. When playing back archived TV shows the video pretty consistently hangs at 2 minutes 50 seconds. The video just freezes on a frame. The audio continues past 2:50 without issue. It’s been doing it for a while. I tried the latest Roku beta player (7.2.0) with the same results. I don’t think it’s done it on archived movies, but since I’m not sure I’ll pay attention more and report back. Any idea what is going on here?

Update. I’ve watched a couple movies since the first post and no issues. Watched some older TV shows which required transcoding without issue. Watched a show tonight that had the issue right at 2:50. MKV, h.265 UHD HDR with eac3 5.1. Direct stream was set to auto and as near as I can tell in the logs it says it was doing direct stream. I wasn’t using subtitles (were disabled) but I tried remuxing to mkv without any subtitle streams with the same result. Tried remuxing to mp4 (including subtitles) with the same result. Changed direct stream to forced and tried the mp4 again and it played just fine, no video freeze at 2:50. Tried the original mkv with direct stream forced and it also played just fine. So still not sure exactly what is going on, but auto direct stream seems to be involved.
