Not enjoying the new bugs in the latest Roku app.
Why is the user profile pic missing?
No one else is seeing this?? I see it in current public and preview releases
First I have heard of that happening. I assume it shows in mobile apps fine.
I can’t remember if it was you but are you blocking anything on network level? ( someone was blocking a bunch of URLs to not show Roku ads.
I’ll ask Roku devs if they have any ideas.
Just to corroborate, I’ve seen this happen regularly too on Roku after recent updates but didn’t catch which version specifically. It usually fixes itself after leaving\returning to the app or restarting the app.
I do have a bunch of roku filters via dns adblocking but that hadn’t stopped this icon from showing previously and it does come back eventually and it wouldn’t be inconsistent like that if it was a specific block.
Edit: If it helps, this is the Roku block list I use: https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists#native with images.sr.roku.com added to it (Hagezi doesn’t include it because that blocks some functionality but it blocks the big home screen ad so I live with it). I also have Hagezi Pro as network wide list. That should help provide some context if you want to compare the calls for that image against a dns block list. I don’t think it’s that though… it “feels” like a loading hiccup with cache which isn’t uncommon with Roku but that’s 100% anecdotal. 
Only in this new Roku app am I having the problem. It doesn’t happen all the time. Usually the profile picture will show fine, but either later it disappears while using the app or it might happen when first opening the app. I haven’t seen it recover while using the app, only by exiting and reopening the app.
Yes, I do block several Roku urls tied to ad delivery and for protecting my privacy.
