role.photo

role.photo does not seem to be documented anywhere, so I am flailing kind of blindly, only having what I found in The Movie Database agent plugin to work off of. Which is not much, though it helped me understand that role.photo is simply a URL.

So all of that said, one quirk I noticed is that when I update the photo for an actor under one movie, it goes through and changes the photo URL for that actor for ALL of their movies. i.e. it rebuilds the XML files for all movies that actor is tagged in. This would be kind of cool, except as far as I can tell I have no way of knowing ahead of time whether that actor already exists in the database, therefore I have to look them up their photo URL every time regardless.

In my case, I am using (adult films) studio websites to pull photos from, and when an actor appears in films from more than one studio, every time a film from a new studio is added or updated, my custom agent will hunt down the photo URL from that studio...which is a waste of time if that actor already exists elsewhere in the database.

How can I tell if the actor already exists in the database from an agent plugin?

Edit: Another odd behavior. If I update a movie, and the photo URL is not input for any reason, it goes back and removes the existing URL from ALL of that actor's movies. Even if the URL in the previous movies was completely different.
