The last ten or so films I’ve added to the library, if you click on any cast photo, it only brings up the same movie, even though I have other movies with that actor. I f I go to one of those other movies and click on the same actor, I get all the movies I have with them except the movie I just added. Also, if I filter on that actor, the new movie does not appear. Tried refreshing metadata, deleting and adding back the movies, rescanning library, switching agents around and rescanning, rebooting server, nas, etc. Device used to access plex doesn’t matter. Any ideas?
You need to refresh the metadata of your library.
Plex made a change to how it handles actors/directors some weeks/months ago, using some unique ID for each of them – your existing metadata might still be missing that information and therefore cannot identify that the same-named actor is actually the same person.
In theory this should also be updated if your server is configured to perform certain scheduled tasks. In any way… refreshing the library metadata will solve this for good.
