I’m not able to unless I logout and back in - which means all customizations are lost again and again.
Wait, customizations aren’t saved in the cloud to prevent loss of the customizations and to allow syncing your personalized UI across devices? In that case, I’m not even going to bother taking the time to figure them out. This deal is getting worse all the time.
You do if you bought a toaster that worked exactly as you wanted, they then came to your house, removed half the elements, called it an “upgrade” and it never toasted to the same level again.
Being that we paid for a product and that product now isn’t what we paid for, I feel justified in the backlash that has developed as a result.
You say removed the elements, I say re arranged the elements. Its all still there you just have to take the time to adjust.
People these days just can’t handle change.
I can handle change. Change is usually for the better. But this UI change is the worst they’ve ever come up with. My server is organized very nicely by library and all my libraries are accessible with one click. However, it is impossible to organize by library on the iOS app. Doesn’t make any sense. They could easily fix the UI backlash by providing the ability to add libraries to the home screen so they’re available with a single tap.
If it even loads, here’s a picture of my homescreen that I thought I could customize by using the new “powerful customization options” provided. Turns out I can only add rows of the most recent of each media type. My libraries are nowhere to be found. Anyone know how I can get my libraries back on the homescreen?
I’m not happy about the new UI either… When I start a Plex app I want to immediately be able to see and browse MY libraries, which I have spent a huge amount of time organizing. I have the same problem in PMP - too many steps to get what I want!

Garbage is being nice and I agree. Every song I play buffers. I have 50 mbps on my cellular and 5 mbps upload on my home server and songs still buffer. How in the hell does a 5 MB song buffer at those speeds?!!! Should never happen. Unplayable and complete garbage.
Have you checked your network ip’s, Reserve the LAN addresses at Router
I’ve had manual port forwarding set up for a long time and it has always worked perfectly. The problem is the app. I was able to use my phone as a personal hotspot and connect my iPad to it. Then I used my iPad, which was on the old UI, to connect to my car’s bluetooth. No buffering for 2 solid hours of playback, even though I introduced an additional signal hop. When I use my phone with the new UI and paired directly to my car; constant buffering and totally unplayable. The problem is the app, not my settings.
if u look at the apple store app, plex have attempted to copy it. it barely works as an app store interface not for a media library. come on, stop trying to be fancy and put it back how it was. there isnt a single person child in my house that can find a damn thing they want to watch now. roll it back then fix the tvdb problem ffs. who is running with these releases and uat/qa? u need a swift foot in the ass.

I’ll have to agree that the new UI is pretty bad and straight out not working. I have a dozen people watching videos of my daughter via Plex and now I have to tell(guide) each one of them to click More, select Other videos, click on the top to select the right library, click All items, click the sort button and order by Date Added and then do almost all these steps to go see all videos every time they want to see a list of all videos in the library.
If the new app “adds powerful customization options” and allows me to “have complete control over the home screen of the app” how do I get to All Items of a specific library from the home screen?! Even the “Recently Added Videos” row doesn’t work. If I add the one from my daughter’s Video Library, in the Home Screen it displays Recently Added Videos from the first Video Library I have. So I can’t have Recently Added Videos of multiple libraries?
I encountered this when trying to use the iOS ‘Rate on the App Store’ link from within Settings. The more I find things like this, the more convinced I become that this update was either railroaded into production without sufficient (or any) alpha and beta testing or the management team responsible for quality control totally dropped the ball. This update is nowhere close to production-ready, imho.
Do not like the new interface, at all (iOS) I tried giving it a few days, but its not working for me. I much prefer the old interface, where I can connect to one of my two servers, and browse the libraries I set up. I agree sometimes change can be good, but after approaching this with an open mind, I’m ready to go back.
**RANT WARNING **
I just want to support the long paying Plex pass users like me who absolutely hate the new UI interface. I was driving in my car doing 45 mph coming up to a stoplight thinking, “ok lets play some music on plex” then i see a notification “update” “remind me later” “close” Being a super stupid monkey fart brain I press the update button. OH MY G- What a nightmare!! I thought this was a minor bug fix. Low and behold I am blasted with buttons and clunky flashy junk all over the place stuck trying to figure out how in the hell I’m supposed to navigate to my customized folders and relearn everything while driving!! It aggravated me so much I had to pull the car to the side of the road uninstall the app do a google search for plex older versions and download and install “Plex Media Server 1.12.0.4829” mind you it took 5 to 6 installs to find which version had the old UI. Thank you Plex! I love x2 because you dominate the custom home media interface that’s universally supported among all digital devices but I HATE HATE HATE X3 you because you know you monopolize it and decide to hammer a screw in my brain to fix something that wasn’t broken. Thanks a bunch!
I have spent hundreds (probably thousands of hours) organizing my libraries on my Plex server. My Plex App on Apple TV works great (so please DO NOT change this). The new iOS App for iPad doesnt recognize Libraries setup on Plex Server. Which makes it a completely useless tool. I cannot find any New shows unless i put them in the TV Shows folder… Any other Library that is not named “TV Shows” or “Movies” makes the app inoperable…
Great update Team…as a paying customer, we should be able to have the ability to go back to an older version where it actually worked.
Please add back in the ability to Add or Show the Libraries
