This is my first post here. I've just installed Plex and I would like to thank to all the creators for this wonderful things that you have did. Though I have some issues that are written down below.
Please excuse me if I didn't post in the right category of the forum but I didn't found Subtitles category.
Romanian Characters in subtitles
Hello,

I've noticed that on my Samsung TV with Plex installed on it and with Plex Server installed on my Computer (Windows) all the subtitles can't handle the Special Romanian Characters such as (ăâîşșţț).

So, for example if I have in the subtitle the following Romanian word "aştept" Plex will not encode in Central European or Romanian and it will display wrong (something like this "a$tept").

Could you please fix this, because any Romanian subtitles that are containing these characters are not displayed correctly

I also found on several topics that you should select this standard ISO 8859-2, but where to set-up this on WEB or on TV APP ??

In fac the issue is triggered only for these 2 letters (ş and ţ).

Thank you in advance!
And if not, then plz. upload a srt file to dropbox, and tell me the link.
P.S. Why did you post this in a dev. forum, and not in the Samsung Client forum?

Hello,
Currently I'm working and I cannot test any new method in order to see if is working :( When I will go back home, I will try to see if indeed is a bug with PSPad.
Regarding my thread, as I already said, is my first post and didn't know exactly where to post issues with subtitles. Sorry for posting in a wrong category, but after all maybe is not an issue with Samsung because if I'm using the default media center with Samsung AllShare I'm able within the movie, to select Central European and the subtitle is working fine.
Thanks again for your help.
Meanwhile take a subtitle that for sure is not working :)

"I would like to ask something about my libraries:
On my server (home computer) I've added Movies and TV-Shows and inside of them content. All the content has been updated perfectly with all the metadata etc. (covers / information etc.) So far so good.
On the Plex Android app, because I've been within the same WiFi network (home) also I was able to see (not to watch) everything that I had on Plex Server (home computer). So far so good.
Then I realize that I'm able to play the content on my HTC One. So far so good.
ISSUE:
In this morning when I've enter in the Plex Android app from my office (wi-fi) (3G ntw) doesn't matter, I didn't have anything, any content in the APP.
My question:
It is possible to view in the mobile app ONLY the CONTENT from the SERVER. I mean only to see what movies / tv-shows I have on my home server (of course with metadata with information, covers etc.) ???
I don't want to actually view/see/watch on my mobile the content. I ONLY want to see the OFFLINE libraries but in a nice view (covers/information etc.)

Thanks again!
Please start a new thread for a new question, cuz otherwise peaple can't locate answers up here.
And I recommend you do that in the PMS windows forums, found here:
Oki, so basically you change the encoding format of the sub to UTF-8 with PSPad? Or did you used other software to make it. I saw the recommendation about PSPad, I will try with another subtitle when I will got back home. Moreover I will try the new encoded subtitle that you have made in order to see if now everything is OK.
Thanks mate.
For the second issue I will open a new thread now.
Your file wasn't in UTF-8 format, which Samsung req.
New version of your srt, in UTF-8 format, and added language code as ron, can be found here:

As said, I'm not a windows dude, but a Linux dude.
I used Gnome editor for the conversion, and do let me know if it works
I had this problem too with Romanian subtitles (and probaby any of the special character languages).
On Windows, you can deal with it easily by opening the subtitle file with Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/) and, from the main menu, choose Encoding -> Convert to UTF-8 without BOM. Then press +S (save file). You're done.
