Hi there,
Using Plex server on Windows 10, have couple of movies in the original languages and in the dubbed version but only one of the shows up to watch. I have to move one of the versions to a drive not monitored by plex to view the other movie. both movies have different names, one in the original versions name one in the other language dubbed versions title… Is there a way to get around of that limitation?
If they are the same movie then they likely were merged and there will be a play version option on the detail page menu

That will only display resolution/codec as a descriptor though as far as which version is which.
You can split them apart if they were merged ( but they will still be treated as same movies as far as watch state) or you can make one an edition
Bingo, that worked, thanks
You can use Split Apart and do this. (but they will still be the same movie as far as watch state)

That worked as well, maybe you can answer a different question to one problem I have It’s when I sort movies from A-Z, find the movie, like Wall-E, (so I’m at W) when going back to the index once the movie is finished it’s starts at # again instead of staying at W, the other thing I have only so many tries to FF or FR to watch a part of the movie before I’m going back the the login screen (reboot of plex)
In the Plex desktop app? I could not reproduce that.
possibly too many requests at once happening before getting any response from server causing issues. Not sure which app you are using but you should be able to click on timeline or drag cursor on timeline to manually move until we figure out what is going on.
which app? besides plex? what other app I could use in plex to Forward or reverse?
I used to work with SageTV and a 300HD extender and there was never an issue wit FF/FR, but they stopped development in 2010. Compare to Plex feels like Sage is in the stone ages, Plex is a fare more developed product, just have to work out the kinks
In the Plex desktop app? I could not reproduce that.
My plex server is on a home network, I use a Hisense TV via a Nvidia Shield Box to watch Plex, that seem to be the problem, cause watching it directly on the server there is no issue.
Thanks
I guess i should have said which device are you using this Plex app on. We make many apps for many devices which are all different code bases. The app on Roku is built based on that operating system and is different than the Plex app on an Apple TV which is built based on that apple operating system. Each may have it’s own quirks
