Samsung can't play high sample rate FLAC music

I’m playing FLAC music with my Samsung TV, the server shows the media transcoding from FLAC to AAC. I’m not sure exactly what sample rate causes issues, but a 44.1 kHz rate is fine, and a 192 kHz rate causes the file to not play.

The symptom is silence punctuated with the odd “digital glitches” at a very high volume and frequency.

Given that PMS is transcoding this may actually be a PMS issue, but I’m starting here.
