Guys, I really love PLEX. But the client for Samsung UHD TVs sucks big time since the last update. And the new UI is … not for me.

What version of the app is this? This should be fixed in 3.90. Try deleting the app and then installing it again (not reinstall, but actually select delete before installing).

Ok - removed the app and installed it again (3.90.2). Looks good for
now.
