Good Morning

Is anyone else having problems with the PLEX app on a Samsung TV. When it starts I get a black screen with a couple of the icons highlighted, but underneath the Icons i have the following writing.

window.performance.mark(‘init:css-mal’) window.performance.measure(('ini:css:eval-main, ‘init:css:eval-main:start’(;

It continues this theme for a few more lines with things like js:libs-start & js:eval:start etc…

Can someone help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, this solves the problem for one session and then when i leave plex and go back in i have to uninstall and reinstall again. I am up to date on my plex serve with the latest updates. It only start doing this 2 weeks ago.

I got exactly the same problem, it workes only if I uninstal and instal again the app. Is there a problem with the last update or something?

Exactly the same issue here too. Can anyone tell if PLEX is working on a fix? I’ve read nothing showing PLEX is envolved at all.

Same here. Very frustrating. Uninstall and reinstall worked once, but not a second time. Very much looking forward to a solution.

Work around is to watch directly of my server as a source rather than through the app, but that’s just not as good.

Other problem: Sometimes movie time remaining is not changed (freezes). Early version Plex worked more quickly, i think

Same issue, updated on all, just recently started on May 29,2019. was fine before, not sure what’s going on, but I don’t think anyone from Plex or Samsung is working on fixing this. We might have to find a different solution.

Ya, I think I am there as well. I pay for the plex pass. I cancelled last time because they wouldn’t trouble shoot a problem I was having with my girlfriend’s TV. I finally get the plex pass again… new girlfriend, different problem, same lack of support from the so called Ninjas. They really shouldn’t be allowed to call themselves that. It’s false advertising in the highest form. Worst support ever, even for paying customers.

This is a known issue, and unfortunately an issue on the Samsung side. They’re looking into it.

I give up on the Samsung Tizen Plex App. I now use the Roku and Apple TV Plex app(s). For instance today I chose a movie on Samsung and had massive spinning. It never loaded. Chose the same movie on Roku and it played within a few seconds.

I think Samsung (and/or Plex) dropped the ball on the app.

I have had the same issue but I fixed it by resetting the smart hub and reinstalling the app.
Previously I removed the app but the problem was still there, but the hub reset fixed it.

same here on my Samsung UN55KU7000FXZA running 3.98.1. Back to the black screen with code and the only way it fix is to uninstall and reinstall. I was surprised last time, but again a couple months later?

If you uninstall then reinstall the app it works. Basically a hard re set. Goto you setting and re install your smart hub. then re install the app. Not great but it fix’s the issue! Hopefully they will update the app soon.

Also any one not like the UI? My Pc and my other devices have the new UI. But my Samsung still has the old one ?

Reset the hub is only a temporary fix, lasted 3 days and the app crashed again.
Plus the setting back up and re-registering of each app is a PITA.

I have reset the hub 3 times now.

Huummm… I hope they fix this soon then its annoying to say the least. And the UI ?
