Samsung MKV issues

I’m a newer Plex user and trying to get to the bottom of some issues that are occurring with our newest TV in the house. It is a Samsung QN90C. I am having issues with playing back any 4k content in MKV form with HDR. The title will start via direct stream (on local network) and almost instantly locks up and say playback error an unexpected playback problem occurred. We have two other older Samsung TV’s one from 2017 the other from 2021. Both perfectly stream 4k content with no issues no stutters or buffering.

Update, when disabling direct stream on the player it starts transcoding the video file even though the TV and Plex support the file types. I’m confused why it is running via direct stream and then when disabled it is forcing transcoding.

I have the same thing on my Samsung S95C. It’s been a problem since I got it back in late February and so far Plex has done nothing as far as I can tell.

From what I’ve read it is a client profile issue, The only way to fix this from what I understand is to create an account on the client to register it to the server, then manually edit the “client profile” on the server (basically a list that tells the server what formats can play native) everywhere I turn people just state it’s the hardwear in the Samsung device which is a cop out due to bas support on older devices.
