Samsung TV buffering / failing during streaming

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8
Player Version#:

When streaming to our Samsung Smart TV we’re getting a few minutes in to the video, then it starts buffering and eventually fails.

I’ve tried multiple “solutions” from across the forums / web but nothing helps. Also tried wired connection from the TV to the router.

I initially thought it may be a media issue, but the same video streams perfectly from my MacBook Pro via wifi.

Server hardware is AMD FX 4350, 16GB ram, onboard video, gigabit ethernet

Apologies if I have pasted the log wrong…

And any help is much appreciated, it’s really difficult to sell this to the other half when it doesn’t work for her :joy:

One of my family members is also reporting this issue on her Samsung tv. I’ll grab some logs shortly.

Mine seems to be fine with the MacBook, so I’m pretty sure its a server issue but I’m not overly clued up on how to diagnose myself.

Sounds like the same problem I have: Playback stops on Plex for LG and Plex for Samsung

Works fine with Plex player on Xbox one S, so seems to be the player for the smart TV.

Anyone else experiencing insane buffering issues since the last update to the Hulu app for Samsung TVs? Sometimes I have to start and exit and restart streaming shows 3-5 times before they will actually start, and sometimes they just won’t ever start at all. Its getting really ■■■■■■■ annoying. I have a 1G fiber connection wired directly into the TV and have confirmed its not my internet, and it started after the last update. Anyone else experiencing this??? God its aggravating snaptube telegram web

My problems have been solved with version 4.21.2

Thanks for the info…
How do you update to that version?

When you start up your TV it will be automatically applied. Check your server settings/ authorized Devices to see if that is the case

Is 4.21.2 on the Samsung TV?
My server is on 1.18.7.2457

I have the same versions and the same issues! Now is inusable! I hope in a fast solution!

I just disabled the Hardware Transcoding seems to be helping.
So could it be an issue between new Plex versions and Hardware Transcoding??
