Generally PLEX on my Samsung Q85R works really well, apart from one problem, where the movie/programme watched often happens a few minutes before the actual end of the movie.
Typically this just means you miss the credits, but sometimes you might miss the all important last minute or so.
It always does the same thing, starts to buffer then says “unexpected playback problem has occurred”. As it’s right near the end of the file, if you try restarting, it just starts from the beginning again.
Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know why it’s happening and a solution please?
I am having the same issue but only seems to surface on 4K H.265 content.
Always occurs when approaching the last minute of playback, roughly when there is between 1:10-1:15 left to play.
When the issue occurs, the video freezes but if I use the left arrow key on the TV remove to seek back a few seconds, the stream recovers and plays through to then end.
I’ve been meaning to create a post with debug logs attach but haven’t got around to it.
I’ve also this problem. Before it was working fine when I left EarlyAccess on my TV app. Now I noticed that this is not an option anymore as the app updated. Most shows I’m watching ending at the last scene with “an unexpected playback problem occurred”.
Server version doesn’t matter here, it was happening to me from when the new “Early access” app was introduced.
Anyone can help here?
Just wanted to say that I’m noticing the same behaviour on my Q70R.
Each episode of the show I’m currently watching ends up the same: playback hangs few minutes before the end. I thought that the files might be corrupted, but they are playing fine with VLC on my computer, and also playing fine from Plex Web Player (Firefox - Win10).
EDIT: Commenting on a previous user reply, my episodes causing the issue are 1080p h264, so it’s not only 4k HEVC on my side.
