I am having all kinds of issues with my 2 - Samsung (2018) TV’s as well. Seems like certain files wont play or error out. some will work, and then I rrwd or ffwd they error and NEVER play on that TV again. The transcoder on the server is fine, mobile/web works 100% of the time, its just my Samsung TV’s smart app that is constant trouble and getting worse over the past few months. This used to work great, but just been getting worse over the past few months/year. I’ve tried going wifi ONLY and tried going wired ONLY, both same. I got so tired of it today, after soft/hard rebooting the TV and nothing works, I dug out my old 4k firestick and plugged it in, updated the OS and apps, and it works perfect! So now, I use the TV for all my other streaming apps and then use Firestick for Plex only.

Is it because the TV’s are getting close to 5 years old? The plex app in the samsung store is rarely updated (like 1 time a year if that). I love my Samsung TV’s because the integrate with my Home Assistant so well and the layout of the apps/menu is awesome, I would like to upgrade to new TV’s, but unsure if that will fix the issue…

Does it give you any error message - maybe something about a transcoder error?

No, and that is not true - app version 5.48.1 was release 5 days ago and at least one update a month is availible for your tv…

I am experiencing a lot of transcoder errors almost everytime I seek when watching media but as far as I can see its beyond my control and a problem I cans really get any real help solving in this forum so I’m just crossing my fingers to it being solve everytime I update…

The Samsung TV plex client is garbage. It’s developed by a 3rd party (not Plex) and is super out of date. Additionally, Samsung does a terrible job of keep their apps consistent among their TVs, all models use different app stores, versions, etc. After many years of it working well enough but not great, I finally gave up and bought AppleTVs for all my Samsung TVs. Everything is much better now

I would just by a ROKU stick and call it a day. Most smart TV Plex apps are not that great with lots of playability issues.
