Samsung Tv - Sync Your Watch State and a Ratings cannot be turned on

Each time I end a movie/episode I am asked the question as to whether I wish to enable this and despite saying Yes it does not. So each time I finish watching something I get the same question.

In Settings-Account there is the option which says Off but trying to enable it does not work. It remains Off.

Is this a bug or do I need to change a permission somewhere.

Please disable the prompt entirely.

Most of us who have set up our own Plex servers are tech savvy enough to check settings and enable it if we want to.

I’m prompted by this every time and the only fix is to uninstall and then reinstall Plex on the TV. It’s obviously nothing more than a temporary fix, and is back to prompting me the next time I turn on the TV.

I am having the exact same issue. In my account online, syc is turned on but on the samsung app it remains “Off” and will not turn on even when you say yes to the prompt. I am on client v5.81.1, platform v6.

This is very annoying after ending every single expisode or movie. I hope plex will step in and investigate this issue.

Still getting the prompt every time I’m done watching a movie or show.

Just disable the prompt, please. If I have it set to off, let me keep it off. I don’t need to be reminded that it exists. If the sync rating option doesn’t work on some TVs and results in a prompt every time, then either exclude that brand of TV from the prompts, or just disable prompts. End-users are getting inundated with pointless prompts everywhere, all the time. Be one of the few who stops this nonsense.

Anyway, the original poster created this thread february 18th, which is over 3 months ago.

I’ll give it another 30 days. If no Plex representative replies in this thread acknowledging the issue, I will take my subscription to Jellyfin or Emby. I don’t care about all the work I’ve put into setting up my Plex. I refuse to support the continued enshittification of Plex.

I have the exact same issue. It occurs on both Samsung Smart TVs we have. However this issues DOES NOT occur on any of the accounts I’ve mad ein Plex (for my GF and mom). Weird that it only affects my admin account.
