Can't turn on watch state on Samsung tv

Hi all, following no known changes, Plex seized up on my Samsung smart TV causing me to have to reset the app. Everything seems to work great except sync watch state remains persistently off by default.

  1. Even after turning on sync watch state, it sets itself to off.
  2. After every viewing, when exiting it prompts to turn on sync watch state - same as above happens, immediately sets itself to off
  3. It is actually syncing across devices…
  4. Everything else works as expected

Please help - this is super annoying!

Have you tried to Switch User once, and back?

So, I have second profile (kids), and switched as you suggested. There was no prompt to sync watch state after trialling, but also no menu setting for it…

Went back to main profile and still getting the same error.

For further info, this issue doesn’t repeat on other TVs, players

What exact model of TV is this?

Samsung frame. Worked without issue for more than a year, now this

Do you have a model number? There are older and newer, larger and smaller Frames.

Samsung QE43LS03AAUXXU 43" The Frame

Could you do this, please:

  1. enable “debug” loggin on your Plex server. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/
(Do NOT enable “verbose” logging, though.)
  2. stop and restart your Plex server
  3. enable debug logging in your Plex app on your TV
  4. recreate the issue
  5. wait 1 minute
  6. fetch the server logs (download them as ZIP archive using the web app, as explained in the first link above)

Either attach the zip archive to your next post here, or send me a private forum message with the logs attached.

Pm’d you, thanks

Hi - any update on this from the debug log please?

This is still an issue and Plex refuses to acknowledge it.
