So after an update of the app on my old curved samsung 8500 series tv , whenever i open plex app the volume button doesn’t do anything the tv blinks but you cant change volume i tried doing the audio in pcm only, but it didnt help it is as if the tv is connected to an AVR and i am trying to control it,but tv is alone nothing is hooked up. I feel this is a bug since volume works outside of plex. Open to suggestions to try and make volume button work again in plex app it doesn’t matter if i play something or not the moment i open plex app the volume button stops
How old is it? What it the exact model number? You tagged this samsung-smart-hub which is a third party app I don’t think has been updated in a long while.
First of all I didn’t tag anything. I referred to the plex app being updated since samsung stopped updates for this TV long time ago. That is the model Samsung UE65HU8200 (65", 4K): Price, specs and best deals … Say 2014 I guess I bought it then. Samsung smart hub was not updated for sure if anything was updated it would be the plex app. I didn’t change anything on the server side and also tried on my LG Oled C9 with internal speakers options I can command the volume so it’s just on the samsung and it stopped working like month and half ago but my wife didn’t tell me since she watches the tv primarily.
This TV is running the old 3rd-party client app by Orca, which hasn’t been updated since years now. There is nothing Plex did do, nor anything it could do here.
Well I have no idea what has happened I tried resetting smart hub didn’t work. I then reset the whole TV and everything is back to normal. So Problem solved . Thank you me.
