I understand if this is folded into a feature in PLex Pass but it would be great to have a file we can back up that stores our folder choices. I recently changed computers and while the overall transition and rebuild went smoothly, I generally prefer the original movie poster look (and loath the classic movies with the fake looking DVD cover as the default choice) … as someone with thousands of movies, it’s pretty tedious to go back so if I ever need to rebuild my library, it would be nice if there was some file that that I can backup that keep[s track of which poster I prefer, I totally understand if there are a few errors here and there but to have to go back and redo 95% of my library is tedious). Thanks,.
I wonder… from all I remember, Plex will already keep all your selected posters if you migrate a server, using the old server data directory. So I’m not sure what gap you’re trying to address with this suggestion?!
It’s in the database, that has a scheduled backup
I did a clean install as the Migration from an Intel Mac to an M1 Mac did not go so smoothly. Maybe if there were a “PREF” file I could “import.” I totally understand this is a power user need, most people probably do not have 1,000+ items in their DB … but yes, aspects were carried over such as files in the mid stream were synced and showed up correctly even with a clean install. Thanks.
A post was split to a new topic: Issue selecting posters
2025 clean-up: this can already be achieved following the support article on how to move an install (implemented)
