Scheduled Recordings are occasionally aborted and then disappear from the schedule

First of all Hello all! I am relatively new to plex and brand spanking new to the plex pass so I apologize for my ignorance at any point during our exchange. Feel free (in fact please do) to point me to relevant documentation. Thanks!

I purchased an HDHomeRun Connect Duo Tuner this weekend and got it all setup in plex. I am able to view the channels and the program guide comes up without any issue. I added a library to plex for my DVR Recordings and then setup MCE Buddy (free) to monitor that directory and convert the .ts files to high quality mkv’s and remove the commercials. Bam I am in heaven everything seems to work great, mostly…

I noticed a couple of times this weekend some of the scheduled programs I had scheduled to record were not recorded it seems. So working under the assumption that it is not a software issue but a configuration issue I rechecked my plex dvr settings, the scheduled recording settings and my MCEbuddy settings. I was able to confirm that PLEX DVR seems to be working (most things are getting successfully recorded), that the scheduled recording is setup to record to the “DVR Recordings” library and the MCE Buddy is configured to watch this path. I also confirmed that the optin in MCE Buddy to “Delete Original” is not enabled. So at this point it would seem I have ruled out a configuration issue, other recordings succeed (in fact most do) and MCEBuddy is performing its magic on them and then dumping the re-encoded file into my TV Shows library.

I started to look at the plex logs and that’s when things start to become fuzzy for me…I am not super familiar with the plex logs or what logs to look in but I decided to give it a shot.

I found this:

But nothing here seems to point to an issue that I can start on.

Can anyone point me to something else to look at or some other logs?

Are your issues limited to one channel?

Can you provide a full set of logs for this issue.

This seems to have (as far as I can tell ) resolved itself with one of the recent updates.

Sorry for the lack of response other projects got re-prioritized and I am just circling back around to this.

Glad it got resolved. There have been several improvements in recording issues that had been reported since the October time frame when this thread started.
