Never been able to test this: Can a Plex server running on a Windows machine actually wake up the system from standby when a recording is scheduled?
Nope.
This is probably the most requested feature and I would consider it essential for any DVR but plex has never AFAIK replied to anyone asking about this basic feature. I think plex is the only DVR software available that won’t wake/sleep for recording. It’s a deal breaker for many potential customers.
is it possible to even get the next date/ time that a recording will start, if you can get that from the command line then it would be possible to set a wake event on a specific time.
