SD Power Consumption

Hi,


I am looking at the power consumption of my RPi. I purchased a fast SD card and now worry that it is consuming a lot of power.


It seems that the SD Card can consume more or less power depending on the bus speed mode (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Power_consumption). Is this dependent on the card or the a RPi interface ?

The article states that the maximum draw depends on the host.

Of course, these are peak power draws during I/O. It isn't drawing that power all the time. Also, while the power draw during I/O may be higher, the duration will be shorter, which will probably mean you end up with lower overall power consumption.
