Search engine and apostrophe : strange behavior

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349 (Win 10 x64)

The problem is that the search engine is not dealing with apostrophe as it should. Apostrophe should be an optional typographic sign for the search engine : with or without the apostrophe it should show a result.

Tested on a french serie called “L’Effondrement”. The serie is well scraped and I see it in the list of series. The problem is that the search engine really want that you put the apostrophe in the search field otherwise nothing is found :

  • Searching for “effondrement” → no result (should be OK)
  • Searching for “l effondrement” → no result (should be OK)
  • Searching for “l'effondrement” → result OK

This is too restrictive and make difficult to find this content.

Similar test with : “Falcon et le Soldat de l'hiver” :

  • Searching for “Falcon et le Soldat de l'hiver” → result OK (normal in this case)
  • Searching for “Falcon et le Soldat de l' hiver” or “Falcon et le Soldat de l 'hiver” or “Falcon et le Soldat de l ' hiver” → no result (should be OK)
  • Searching for “Falcon et le Soldat de l hiver” → no result (should be OK)
  • Searching for “Falcon et le Soldat de lhiver” → result OK (should be not OK)
  • Searching for “Falcon et le Soldat de hiver” → no result (normal in this case)

Here we see that the logic of the search engine is not good with the article l' , this should be managed like the article the when it’s in the beginning of the title (which means not required to match search result, and it should match with or without apostrophe)
