Search no longer works correctly for original titles

Version 1.23.3.4706

I am using the new agent for movies. The language is set to German.

I can no longer search for the original titles. It works only partially.

Example

:heavy_multiplication_x: Searching for original title Tom Clancy's Without Remorse

:heavy_check_mark: Searching for german title Tom Clancy's Gnadenlos

:heavy_check_mark: Searching for original title The White Tiger

:heavy_multiplication_x: Searching for The White Tig

:heavy_check_mark: Searching for german title Der weiße Tiger

So there is a problem with finding original titles. Does anyone have a similar problem?

Run a “Optimize Database” and try again.

Unfortunately, this did not work. I also tried a reboot. Without success.

I was going to post about this too, actually!

My language is set to English.
My Library is not set to Use original titles.
I have Run Lola Run, with Original Title Lola Rennt.
I cannot search for “Rennt”

Thanks, I’ll look into this.

What is wrong with this picture:

Can’t unselect
Can’t delete
My option seems to be to CREATE one if the one Plex auto-downloads and selects doesn’t suit me?

That option isn’t working for me, but left with no other - if anyone else needs a couple of Season Posters for this show…:

They’re my gift to the community…

I think you’re in the wrong place. This thread is completely unrelated to your post.

Will be fixed in an upcoming release of the media server.

I noticed this today as well. Translated titles in Greek, Original in their originals (usually English).

I’ve noticed the same issue.

For example. I’ve searched for movie called Seeking Justice which I know is available on Plex.
The search result did not find any movie until I completed the whole movie name. This is not true for other movies though, only some.

Seeking justice

Seeking justice 2

The text Žiadne výsledky means No results. The translated title in Czech is Vendeta so it did found the movie I was looking for.

Gonna wait for the next release

Hopefully this will be fixed soon. If you need any logs or anything hmu.

Same here. Do we have an ETA ? Wife keeps complaining…

It’s merged and should be in the next beta/release, not sure when that’s scheduled.

Updated to Version 1.23.4.4805. Don’t think fix was included. Unless it was, in which case, it did not fix the issue. :slightly_smiling_face:

I can confirm. It didn’t fix the problem for me as well

It would be in the releases notes if it was included, looking like this

- (Library) Searches including original titles weren't working.

1.23.5.4801 has resolved this for me. @elan’s prediction for the release notes was suspiciously correct.

Plex Media Server - #445 by emilybersin

(Scheduled maintenance has to occur before this is effective. Or a manual Optimize Database will trigger it.)

thanks for this. Had to optimise it after the update otherwise it wouldn’t work.

Can confirm as well 1.23.5.4801 fixed it. Thanks elan and plex team

how many times do we need to optimise database before ALL titles are fixed? I have done it 3 times but there will be always a few titles that are not detected. After I optimise the database , they are detected. but there are still plenty. how many times do I need to do it ? or am I doing something wrong?
