Searched without success (perhaps I just searched the wrong way) PlexConnect on Linux

Can anyone confirm they have PlexConnect running on a Linux server?

Yes!
(Ubuntu 15.04 and PlexConnect on two ATV3)

Nah, where both the PMS is installed on the Linux device as well as
PlexConnect.

My bad…
Yes the PlexConnect is running on the Linux server, not the ATV3. The ATV3 is more or less untouched.
What’s your problem?

No worries. I’m looking at a) buying a Chromebox b) installing Ubuntu out
another available flavor of Linux c) install PMS on it and d) get
PlexConnect running on it.
I want to walk away from Windows for good and my PMS with PlexConnect is
the only computer I have now that’s Windows.
On a scale of one to ten, how hard is getting PlexConnect running on Linux?

If you follow the instructions EXACTLY as they say, I’d say 2-3.
If you take short-cuts from the instructions… 8-9

I have an Ubuntu 15.04 running Plex and PlexConnect (and qbittorrent and SickRage and SABnzbd and CouchPotato and a couple of other useful scripts…
The only problem I’ve had with PlexConnect was when I installed a Backup software that grabbed port 80 before PlexConnect could do it. Had to remove the backup…

Eek, that must have been a hell of a thing to figure out and fix.
Do you also have PIL installed?

Well, once it was configured, it just runs
One very good source of knowledge: http://www.htpcguides.com/

PIL… You got me there…
The ATVs are only used in the bedroom for us and the livingroom for my boy.
The main setup uses Rasplex on a Raspberry PI2 that is hooked into my projector with 105"

(I’m actually amazed how well Plex/SickRage/SABnzbd/CouchPotato/qbittorrent works. That in combination with the Plex Auto Delete (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/84822/plex-auto-delete-script/p1) script to reduce disk usage makes it a very nice Automatic Media Center)
(Well… My wife complains when certain tv episodes doesn’t appear the evening after due to holidays in US…)

Thanks for your help on this I really appreciate it. PIL is somewhat of an
add on to get that great background artwork to pop up as you look that the
menu screen of a show or movie.

Jealous of that 105" btw.
