Is there a way to search the play history on PMS from Plex web? I found a message that Plex Dash allows you to do that but it won’t run on my phone. Is there a way to do it from the browser, preferably on Windows?
Dashboard
scroll down to PLAY HISTORY
then click on “View Full History”
That allows you to view the play history.
A search is not available.
Thanks for the reply. I have already been using that method but with over 5 years of data it is impossible to manually scroll down it all in order to see if I have previously watched a particular film, for example.
If there is no search available please can this be added to the feature request list.
You will need to generate a suggestion.
If you want to know if you have already watched a particular film, call up the Play History of that particular item.
The Tautulli 3rd-party app has a searchable play history:
I delete the films after watching so I am unable to look at the play history for films I have already watched.

I have installed Tautilli and it does allow me to search the play history but it only seems to search 360 entries of the play history for some reason. I have checked all the settings and can’t find anything which might affect that and I have tried refreshing the history but I still only get 360 entries from the entire history. Have I missed some setting or other which tells Tautilli to include all of the history?
It’s OK, I think I found the answer in the FAQ:
Q: Can Tautulli import history from before it was installed?
A: No, unless you had PlexWatch or Plexivity installed previously and import the database, Tautulli can only start logging history after it is installed.
This doesn’t really help search the PMS history until Tautulli has built up its own history for a few years. Does anyone know of a 3rd party app which will import the PMS history and allow you to search it?
What if you do this, filter by your user and then use the browser search? (Ctrl + f)
It won’t work because this view never loads the full history at once.
It dynamically loads more events as you scroll.
I see. Sqlite then?
Thanks for that Costa but I had already tried it. As Otto says, PMS doesn’t load the full history.
