Is there a way to see Watch History on Plex? Does Plex save watch history?
There’s a movie I saw, but deleted right after because it wasn’t that great. All I remember is the score at the end it was top notch. But I can’t remember the movie.
Any way I can lookup my Watch History?
@FordGuy61 Re. Watch History. The Top Users panel has stopped working recently - as set to “Last 7 Days” it shows a blank panel, even though there should be data there - but when you check histories, all the data is there correct. If I switch to “Last 30 days” it works correctly.
Where can I report this bug, or get help? Can’t find any comment on the forums about it
FWIW, Top Users is working fine on my system. I’m using the hosted version of Plex Web, https://app.plex.tv/desktop with Chrome/Win10. If I select 7 days it lists the top users, and if I select one of those users it show me their play history.
I have a second Plex server that shows No Data, but that is because nothing has been played from it in the last 7 days.
Suggestions:
Use https://app.plex.tv/desktop. That is the up to date version of Plex Web.
Go to the Play History section of the Dashboard. Click on View Full History, and change it to display for All Libraries / All Users / All Time. Verify that the server has logged activity in the last seven days.
If it still is not working, open a new thread (it will get better visibility) with the version of PMS, problem description, etc.
FYI, you might also check out Tautulli. It is basically the Plex Dashboard on steroids. It has a much more detailed play history, now playing, etc. I use it a lot more than the Plex Dashboard.
thanks i didn’t know this existed. only issue is that i reinstalled windows (on the same pc) and changed the pc name because i wanted a clean reinstall. plex considers the new pc name as a new server therefore it is showing history from 03/2023 when i did the reinstallation.
it will be kind of cool to go back to the beginning of time when i created the account in 2018.

The name has nothing to do with the loss of your playback history.
It is stored inside of your Plex data folder. Which was likely overwritten or renamed when you reinstalled Windows.
There is no other place to store this, unless you either enable https://support.plex.tv/articles/sync-watch-state-and-ratings/ or start using something like https://tautulli.com/
Tautulli looks interesting, will take another look when my workload isn’t so heavy.
