Too snarky?
Sorry, wasn’t exactly intended.
No I’m just being silly. My dopamine … I must have it.
I immediately checked to be sure Die Hard was in the carousel.
Is the restart helpful because it checks for an “entitlement” at that time, or does it cause a routine/periodic “enrichment” request to happen sooner, do you know?
I have 84 libraries.
This sucks.
I have to disable this asinine ‘feature’ on every single one of them?
I suppose this is way beyond the average number of libraries most users have.
If I may ask… what crime have you committed that they made you organize your media in 84 different movie libraries.
I had trouble removing this as I could not find the exact setting. To follow up on OttoKernel’s post, the steps are:
Go to Settings - Server - Manage - Libraries
Hover over the Library and click “Manage Recommendations”
Look for and uncheck “Seasonal Movies”
This could be scripted with a series of curl HTTP requests, or done directly in the database, if you’re inclined. Make another thread and ping me if you are.
maybe in future an update can be pushed that forces a server restart. I will have to try later i’ve noticed there’s another update (second one in about a week). Even just a notification would be enough.
Scratch that, just checked Plex web and the Seasonals are in there by themselves. No restart needed.
Had no idea some of these were classified as Christmassy, but I’ll take it. nice.
hahaha. No crimes. My movie directories are organized by MPAA ratings (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, Unrated, then by decade inside those ratings folders) and TV shows the same way. All of the servers simply have a library of ‘Movies’ where all of the storage directories are included in creating the library, but I have a few family members that have children and want to restrict the content visible and I enable only those ratings folders they will allow in their homes. So the Servers have ‘Movies’, ‘Movies - G’, ‘Movies - PG’, ‘Movies - PG-13’, etc, etc… Creating the storage directories this way offers me the most flexible way of combining ratings or decades into presentable libraries on the front end for those friends that do want a folder with everything. I also have 1080p and 2160p content in separate storage folders and those are only available on my local network to minimize transcoding content. Then there’s things like ‘concerts’ and ‘music videos’ and ‘stand-up and comedy’ and ‘documentaries’… the list goes on.
