Are we going to have seasonal movies activated this year?

I just hope the plex UI keeps it disabled for those of us who don’t want it. Really don’t want this pushed on us like last year.

You can disable the “Seasonal Movies” hub
under Settings - Server - Manage - Libraries

Just hope it’s works. It’s a great feature for those who want it but an absolute intrusion for those who don’t.

Yes, I have tested whether the “disable” checkbox works. It does indeed work. If you have several “Movies”-type libraries, you may have to disable it for every of these libraries.

i didn’t even realise it was a thing, maybe because i’m using the old plex windows app on my tv and it’s not in web? i didn’t see it last year.

I’m wondering if there’s maybe some threshold like minimum number of items in your library/libraries to match Plex X-Mas movie list (similar to the automatic collection creation)… from the top of my head I guess my library contains 3-5 X-Mas related movies (incl. stuff like Die Hard or Gremlins). Maybe that’s just not enough to make up the seasonal hub?

You can use Plex-Meta-Manager. Its amazing

There is a threshold, it’s 3.

Prerequisites:

  • PMS >= 1.24.0
  • 3 or more movie titles matched to our list.
  • Items matched with the modern Plex Movie agent (any language) or the legacy Plex Movie agent (only English).
  • Hub should be enabled in the hub management (it is enabled by default but you may have disabled it unknowingly).

If in doubt, try restart the server and recheck.

and me! required a server restart to work. Not very good for people who don’t waste hours reading these forums.

The trouble is obviously that Plex is too reliable. I rarely restart my server except for upgrades. :slight_smile:

Or updates are not very reliable so you don’t update the server very often :slightly_smiling_face: find a good one and stick to it like glue

The hub might show up eventually – even without a server restart.
The restart is just for people who crave instant satisfaction.
