I like the “Tis The Season” thing (and I appreciate that I can turn it on and off). I have 26 Christmas themed movies, but Plex is only showing me six. What is the criteria for pulling them from my collection? All 26 movies do have “Christmas” listed in the genre. Do I need to add that word somewhere else? And what are the other seasons so I can have this working throughout the year?
From what I’ve understood Plex is matching those against a fixed list on their end. The seasonal hub isn’t based on some smart filter for genre or descriptions.
IIRC Plex had mentioned last year they want to use the seasonal hub for other seasons too – though I haven’t noticed any (maybe I don’t have enough valentine’s day movies
).
Oh OK. I also noticed the movies have to be matched with the new agent in order to show up on the list so that’s why so many of my movies are missing. I can’t stand the reviews in the new agent, so I just made my own Christmas filter based the genres and that’s working pretty good.
To be fair… that’s probably much easier since we’ve got (smart) collections and the option to publish them to the home screen / recommended tabs. While Die Hard, Gremlins, The Expendables 3 or Iron Man 3 are “technically” X-Mas related, they’re not necessarily what you’re aiming for with an X-Mas themed hub
