Segfault after recording TV show

I have noticed that my server is crashing periodically after finishing recording tv shows. When tail the syslog, I see entries like:

This seems to start happening with PMS 1.32.8.7639

I have reduced the crashes, by canceling some of the scheduled DVR recordings. The crashes seemed to happen when a recording finished, while another continued.

For example, on Tuner 1, a 2-hour recording is in process, but on Tuner 2 a 30-minute recording finishes, the crash could happen at this point. And since I have “Allow partial airings” unchecked, the 2-hour recording is cancelled.

I have also another solution for solving this problem. If I disable the detection of commercials, that also seems to prevent the crashes.

Since it seems that this is related to commercial detection, is this a known issue?

1.32.8.7639 has been very stable, I would suspect some other software or hardware impacting Plex. SA2000 would be the best person to ping and see if he can look at your crash dumps.

I have looked at the 14th december crash and it relates to scheduled recordings. We have a fix that is coming out shortly in an update to the current 1.40.0 beta

Looking at uploaded crash reports - you are also having another crash relating to audio sampling/analysing of media - I would need logs for these to investigate.
Looking at last few days crash reporting, yYou had crashes relating to this at these times

Could you look in /tmp for files with .dmp and .dmp.log and .log filename extensions for these times and zip the files and send me by private message

The crashes that we have a fix coming in an update to the 1.40.0 beta happened at these times

These crashes have been fixed in the new Plex Media Server beta 1.40.0.7996
