Are you certain these are all from the same x86_64 executable?
I’m getting version mismatches in GDB
We did downgrade quite a bit over the previous few days, could that be it?
Honestly, I wasn’t even aware there was a 32bit version. Can you confirm for me if I’m testing the correct executable?
root@test:/usr/lib/plexmediaserver# file Plex\ Media\ Server
Plex Media Server: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 3.2.87, BuildID[sha1]=2fdee06c37c2f00b69f5737f287eb676a36b5198, not stripped
to be safe i edited the repo to only [arch=amd64] moving forward.
that’s 64 bit
Alrighty, do you think swapping to 32bit might be worth it in the meantime or should we wait?
please stick with 64 bit,
You’d only make my job harder by jumping around.
Sure thing. If you need anything else please do let me know.
Please leave the logs & dump files here – in thread.
I’ve referenced them in a report / request to engineering for assistance.
Gotcha, thanks Chuck!
@ChuckPa is there any update please as Plex is totally unuseable at the moment. The crashes are becoming more and more frequent
As I have done for jamiew0w, May I have your crash DMP files to examine in the debugger?
I would also like to suggest skipping over this and installing 1.21.3.4021
Those are my logs. Jamie has taken over speaking with you.
All the logs he has supplied are mine. That’s why I am chasing it up.
As @jamiew0w was the one who helped me set up my Plex that’s why he has stepped in.
Thanks for clarifying . I was wondering if my sanity had slipped further than I already knew it had
I am looking at another issue which appears related. I’m going to try and do both together in hope of finding the common thread quicker.
That’s not a good sign surely that more than 1 of us has this issue?
Yes @jamiew0w helped me set it up and he said he would come in and message because he deals with the tech stuff as I am not the most tech inclined. As we are using Linux my knowledge is near 0 to I lean on Jamie when needed
i didn’t say it was the same issue. That’s what I’m trying to find out.
Segfault / core dump is a pretty harsh failure. Trying to backtrack isn’t easy.
The only thing they have in common is a few of the same tasks were active at that same moment but that’s hardly conclusive of being the same failure.
Ok just find it strange it has only happened since the latest update. Hopefully you’ll find the root cause as it’s pretty unuseable now and having to look for a version to downgrade to that actually works
There is a change which I’m aware of regarding the media hubs.
What I’m trying to trace backwards, to confirm or not, whether they are both related to a media hub.
If they are then we can assert “yes, related”.
It’s tricky work because I am manipulating my server here to emulate / recreate what I see in the debug as best I can.
Appreciate it isn’t easy work at all.
Having to use another player I do not like their layout among other things that isn’t anywhere as near as nice or smooth or polished as Plex.

Is there any update at all?
I’ve been working with the one developer on this.
Would it be possible for you to grab another DMP and corresponding set of Logs ZIP file ?
@jamiew0w will be able to do that but we have massively downgraded all the way back 1.1.9 for now as it’s been stable and not a single issue
