@argy

Don’t know what you did wrong but downgrading does not make you lose your server data.

  1. On Synology, Uninstall package (keep) then reinstall lower version
  2. On QNAP, Install lower version ON TOP OF existing version
  3. On Linux, Uninstall package , reinstall lower version.

I can’t speak to the others but AFAIK, the other NAS platforms all keep the data as you downgrade.

I can’t be sure, but I think it must have been because I was forced to do an OS upgrade (from 6 to 7 on Synology) in between uninstalling and reinstalling. This was because the 1.24.5 package linked to by Formz required version 7 and when I uninstalled I was on version 6. Fortunately not the end of the world as my library is not that large.

DSM 7 forced a complete architecture & implementation change on us.

I’ve detailed it all here:

If you still have the “Plex” shared folder, with “Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server” still in it, I can guarantee we can keep what you had on DSM 6.

Do you remember if you used the Package Center version (1.21.0.3744) ?
Also, do you remember if you hit the ‘Repair’ button because the DSM 6 Plex app was installed during the upgrade ?

FWIW, 1.24.5 is available in both DSM 6 and DSM 7 forms.

DSM 6 packages are listed as “Synology” because they also support some versions of DSM 5.2.

DSM 7 packages are listed in the dropdown as “Synology (DSM7)”

I will help you do whatever you’d like. Please let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Are there any updates on this issue? Is it safe to upgrade or do we need to stay on 1.24*?

@ChuckPa

I notice that Version 1.25.4.5487 has been released. Can you please confirm whether this version contains the fix for this problem? Thanks.

My PMS is currently down (NAS volume reshaping). I will test as soon I can.

Hello, I just wanted to follow up to see if you were able to test after all (I found this thread when having a similar problem). Thanks!

Yes, I was able to test .

I played EAC3, transcoded to OPUS for the Amazon FireTV, which played completely to the end without incident using 1.25.5.5492-12f6b8c83

I can also confirm that 5492 fixed my issues. Many thanks for following this through @ChuckPa .
