Selected music track plays next track

Selecting a track in an album let’s say Track 12 plays track 13.
If I scroll back to 11 it plays 12!
Is this a known bug or am I the only one playing music on this app.

I can’t reproduce this.

Do you have “store track progress” activated in the properties of your music library? If so, turn it off. It is only for audio book libraries.

I have the same problem on both my Nvidia Shield, it doesn’t happen all the time, although it’s been happening for well over a year now. Track progress is disabled, sometimes using the previous/next track arrows in the player causes Plex to crash.

thanks for confirming this @paulkebab - i’ve also had the crashes and its annoying as hell as it takes you back to the start.

@OttoKerner “store track progress” is not enabled on any of my Music folders, it makes sense it would only be eBook useful.

It might be important to know how you get the issue to manifest itself.
Which steps are you taking?

Open any album, then click play. Using the previous and next track buttons sometimes crashes Plex but the main issue here is when you select tracks from the album tracklist. It usually DOESN’T play the track clicked but the one after it regardless of whether you pick an earlier or later track. Cleared cache no effect, server is version 1.23.5.4862 and player is 8.20.1.26670.
Edit : problem does not happen when using server directly.

Yup thats what happens here also. The crashing of the Plex App is random but usually happens when a track is already playing and I play another track (doesn’t have to be from the same album).

just had a 30 minute session “trying to” play some music. In addition…

  • no errors in console
  • one track in the album played than manually skipped to another track which didn’t play (no eq graphic)
  • than any track in that album wouldn’t play
  • going step back to the main album cover and pressing play played the first track followed by all the tracks in that album no problem.
  • didn’t get any crashes so far which is better than last time I tried it.
  • crash occurred when in an album on a track playing and selecting “go to artist”
  • frustrated as there is no option to get path/file info nothing like with videos!
