Can anyone tell me what’s the issue that’s causing this? Mars is my buddy and I watch stuff through his server
Could be a number of reasons… e.g.
- their server is actually offline
- their remote access has been disabled or broken
- your TV has a connectivity problem and fails to connect to the internet
- …
I’ve talked to my buddy and he says everything is fine on his end, my tv is currently connected to the internet and don’t know much about his remote access but like I said he says everything is fine on his end.
Hope someone has a fix because it’s really frustrating!
Can you access their server from a different device? Same experience inside/outside your own home network?
Things working fine for your friend doesn’t necessarily mean they’re accessing their own server from outside their home network.

Ok… I’m that case there’s no issue with their server or remote access (unless they only just re-enabled it).
What version of the Plex player app do you have installed on that TV?
Anything specific about your network that could cause the TV to fail seeing certain pages / servers?
Have you ever before successfully streamed content from his server on this particular TV device?
Or are you trying this for the first time?
I am not sure what version it is, you know how I can check it?
I used to be able to stream from this tv without any issues until this recently started. I have even tried resetting to the default factory settings yesterday in hopes it would fix the issue
In the “About” section of app settings it should have it.
Possibly it is affected by this. ( essentially set app to allow insecure connections)
