Server appears offline while remote

Player Version#: 2026.13.0 (1835) - Plex for iOS

Hello. I’m running Plex Media Server on Ubuntu Server 24.04.4 LTS. Remote access is enabled and shows the green check mark. I used canyouseeme.org to confirm the port is open on my router.

I have access to my libraries via LAN, but my player says the server is offline while remotely connecting through cellular connection. I tried to follow steps from other threads by (1) stopping the service, (2) deleting the cert-v2.p12 file, and (3) restarting the server. The Network settings is set to require secure connections and strict TLS configuration (which has worked for years). I also attempted to sign out and sign back into Plex on the server and client. Also rebooted router as well.

Any help is much appreciated!

  1. Side note as to why I listed two separate server versions:

    I noticed this issue after upgrading to v1.43.3.10828, but downgraded because I had an issue where 2 simultaneous streams caused severe buffering and/or caused one or both streams to have a transcoding error occur. Plan to create a separate thread for this later once I can resolve this remote access issue. ↩︎

Lets start with a copy of your server logs. and have you looked at the remote access troubleshooting guide?
