Hi,
I can’t make a backup of the hole service settings and so on on my QNAP - Plex server.
I have logged out on the Plex server and stopped it on the QNAP.
If you backup Plex Media Server, you are also backing up all the executables.
This means your QNAP configuration will not be in sync with the files you restore in the future.
While it may work some of the time, sooner or later it will fail.
Library contains your metadata. This is all you need (and should) worry about.
Thanks for your answer.
When i try to copy the files, some of the files can’t be transferred?
So i don’t think that i have a backup of all data?
The hole library is about 30 - 40 GB.
Thanks for your help
Everything under the Library directory is your metadata.
I suspect you have Thumbnail images (these are huge) which is using a lot of space.
My entire metadata directory (some 30,000 pieces which includes music), without thumbnails, is 12 GB.
DO you have Chapter Thumnails on (They are usually on by default)
