Server Version#: 1.13.8.5388 EDIT - Updated to 1.13.8.5395 - error still there
Ever since the latest update I have been experiencing server crashes.
It happens every time that I am watching a series… The 1st episode I watch plays fine but when it goes to auto-play the next episode Plex quits. It doesn’t matter if I wait for the next episode countdown to complete of whether I click to play during the countdown - it crashes every time. If I exit an episode and manually select the next without using the auto-play it works fine.
It happens regardless of the device I am trying to watch on (except for locally on my PC) - I have tried Apple TV, iOS, Firestick and LG webOS
The DLNA Server log is showing the error “Unable to lock named mutex”
The crash appears to be whilst dealing with a request from iPhone
Would need to establish if it is Plex for iOS or infuse and will need logs from Plex for iOS if it is
First please enable verbose logging on the server - settings/server/general/show advanced
This will give more information about the request that is leading to the server crashing
Make sure you restart the server after enabling verbose logging to get new logs
Then try to reproduce the crash
and then collect the logs as before and also get the logs from the iOS device. Lets assume first it is Plex for iOS - the server log will confirm if it is not
To get Plex for iOS logs, use settings/ help & Support / Debugging / Share Debugging Data and then select email option to email it to yourself
and then please attach both sets of logs - server and iOS

Did these crashes start with the new 5.5 / 1.33 betas on iOS/ tvOS or with the new versions of Plex Media Server 1.13.8 ? and what versions were in use before?
I believe it began after the server updated to 1.13.8.5388
I always update both server and clients pretty much as soon as they are available.
EDIT: I have gone back to the tvOS beta 1.32 (10087) to try - works fine on that one so it must have been the latest tvOS and iOS beta’s that have broken it
Yep, same problem here. After the 15 second countdown, when the next episode is about to play, the server crashes. It recovers itself after 5 minutes but that depends on what you run your server on.
