I apologize if this is elsewhere but I wasn’t able to find anything by searching.
I access Plex on the web at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/ . Whenever I try to play something local it plays a few seconds then crashes. If I try to play something on someone else’s server that I’m also connected to, it’s fine.
My setup is that I have Plex server running on my PC (windows 10) and have all my media stored on portable external drive. This setup has been working fine until now. Even as recently as a couple weeks ago. (I don’t use it every day, so I’m not sure exactly which day the issue started)
I tried downloading the logs from the troubleshooting page and it seems to have given me 2 years worth of logs, in a 2MB zip file, which I’m guessing isn’t what I should be uploading.
How do I download the relevant logs to post here for review?
Thank you.
(I’m pretty sure these are the version numbers based on what I can find)
Server Version#: 1.19.5.3112
Player Version#: 4.75.0
EDIT: I think I screwed things up even worse now. I figured I’d try logging out and back in to see if anything kicked back into place. But, somehow, all it did was disconnect completely from my local server and forced me to make one of the other, remote servers my main server! I can’t figure out how to reconnect to my local machine at this point! When I go to settings, I used to have all these options along the left menu. Now I only see a handful of things and anything associated with my local server is gone. I also looked in the console and it’s filling up with errors and warnings about not being able to connect and I can’t tell if it’s to my server or my friends server (that it made me choose as the main library).
I’m very lost on this one and would appreciate any help anyone could offer.
Thank you.
EDIT 2: I got my library back. Still have the original problem of it crashing anytime I try to play something.
