Server goes down nightly Windows 10 help

Firstly, forgive me as I am a newcomer and hoping to post this in the right place. Secondly thank you for your time.

Ive been running plex almost 2 years now from a HP desktop wins 10 which I usually access on my roku or firestick and until the last month have had ZERO issues. No downtime, no crashes, Nothing. However over the last month it has crashed almost on a nightly but as of lately every other night basis. Sometime over the course of the night it crashes and I wake up to my server not being online. This is rectified by rebooting my PC and it keeps it online for a night or two, rinse and repeat.

Hopefully you can access the following links and help me understand what it is Im doing wrong. Thank you for your time.

have you pinned down a certain function or process that triggers the crash?

No. The only thing I know is that it happens over night.

I deleted entire server, cleaned out my hard drive, deleted windows app and reinstalled everything and it made no difference.

this may sound silly but have you tried removing access to all devices and logging out completely?

I have found a bug that was reproduced on both Linux PMS and Windows PMS, after creating a server, if I didn’t logout of the account prior to adding content to a new server it would constantly crash the server after instantly logging in via Android App

I have not. So remove permission for all devices within the app and log out?

just browsing the log you provided, its throwing an error for DVR? port 34400, any ideas? seems to do something with your network configuration. port forwarding perhaps. just a suggestion.

Yes. I have port forwarding on because when I originally signed up I was having issues with getting remote access to work.

I don’t use dvr but did try and set up live tv and dvr last month but it didn’t take and I removed it.

If remote access works without port forwarding then I have no issues turning that off but I was under the impression that that was a must.

port forwarding is a must, unless your router automatically does it thru UPNP protocol.

networking can be a real cruel beast to troubleshoot unless you have some experience doing it.

Personally I would start with disabling any DVR/LiveTV settings because that is flagging an error.

Second, make sure you get a green check under on remote access and that your router is forwarding the same port as specified

Third, remove devices from access to clear up any devices that may trigger remote access incorrectly.

I don’t work for plex, just been running servers for a couple years now and have seen many of my own issues.

When I get home I will clear out the permissions for all devices and start fresh.

I’m not sure what’s going on with the port forwarding as I haven’t touched the settings in years and I’ve had no issues with accessing my plex server remotely until this months issues.

Thanks for the advice.
