Server hangs up. Database operations are slow

Server Version#: 1.24.5
Player Version#:

Hello all. Ive recently begun having issues with Plex and it becoming unresponsive. It was working excellent for a year until some update within the last 3? weeks. Ive determined that it gets busy with the database. I haven’t had the time to look until now, restarting the server at the command line is slow while these database operations are being performed but does fix it until it hangs up again.

It seems to take 15 minutes to optimize the database, or more. Ive googled for a while and dumped and rebuilt the database as per Plex fixing database web page and there is no improvement. It is 14 gigs, with about 14TB of data and the server was running for months before something changed. It was the worst with the latest update 1.24.5.5173. I noticed that the -wal file grows to the same size of the database during an optimize each time.

If I manually run the VACUUM; command on the database with “/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex Media Server” --sqlite com.plexapp.plugins.library.db it takes 10 minutes at least. Is my database somehow too large? or my disks somehow too slow?

The server never stops running, it just ignores everything until the operations on the database are done. Anyone have any idea?
