Server is Currently Unavailable. WHY?

Upgrade my PMS? I’m not sure. I’m just a home user and am not familiar with all these terms. But I upgrade my NAS whenever it wants me to. And I think I recently did. But the problems started after a reboot of the NAS.

I have no antivirus software on the NAS itself, as it is not connected outside my LAN.

The firewall is probably not active for the same reason.

I can play music using my HEAS app from Denon. It accesses a music folder from the NAS. So you are correct it is not via Plex.

If above, and since your PMS has been up for so long, I sadly suspect, even tough it’s not written in the logs, a broken database :frowning:

I suggest we for a start try and restore an older one

Please see here:

And you should use QTS Filestation to move files around

Okay, couple of questions:

Do I understand correctly that the database is nothing else than an inventory with enriched content like pictures and meta data, based on the content of my media folders?

If so, is there a way to let Plex re-inventory those folders? Thus rebuilding its database from scratch? Or is that a next step if this one fails?

I only see files from dec/2021. Is that okay you think? Not too old?

It’s a database, that holds info about your media, the info about them, as well as points to downloaded posters etc. It also holds information about who watched what

If the database is broken, then there’s sadly no way

That sadly indicates, that your database broke then, since if a database is broken, no backup will take place
And as a default, a new backup should take place every 3 days

Sadly, you are out of options, as I see it :frowning:

Ehm… So now what?

So now you have to follow the tech note I linked towards

OK. So this one right?

[Restore a Database Backed Up via ‘Scheduled Tasks’]

I’m sorry to reconfirm, but I’m just a bit anxious I make a mistake and distroy my data…

Correct, and after shutting down PMS, make a backup copy of the database before overwriting it with an older one

OK. I did it but the result is the same…

WAIT! Good news! It works. I guess it needed some time to parse the new database? But it works again… Man! I’m releaved! Thanks for your help @BigWheel @dane22 !
