Hi folks.
I’m stuck, I don’t understand what is going on. I have my plex server running on linux on LAN, and I also have Playstation 5 Plex application running in the same LAN. I logged in the same account obviously, but when I try to open my linux plex server by its name (lea) from PS5, it says: “lea is currently unavailable”. What does that mean? How it’s unavailable while it’s running right now?
To check network connectivity I enabled DLNA in my linux plex server and I tried to open my library from my (smart) TV (lg): TV sees the server and can play movies. So network connectivity is not the issue, isn’t it?
Sorry, is this the right place to ask questions like this? Maybe I should have used another category? Is it really a server problem, or it’s a problem with the PS5 app, that simply cannot connect via LAN and cannot even message about what the heck is going on?
DLNA doesn’t require signing in to be visible.
Normal PMS apps do require the server to be signed in.
- Close your browser
- Open it again
- Open a Private Browsing window
- in that private window, open the LAN IP of the server
- Sign into Plex/web and claim it again if neede,
if it won’t claim, check Preferences.xml.
Look for PlexOnlineToken="" (NULL).
This seems to be occurring recently when it shouldn’t.
