My network and computer recognizes my server. Everything but the app
which app?
did you restart the App? Is it on the same network? (wired vs wifi vs mobile)
Thanks, I appreciate your response. I think the size of my library is very large and PLEX is taking a lot of time.
Even on an older DS1813+ it only takes about a minute to start and stabilize. A DS416play should be quick.
Can you go into the Plex share, drill down until you see the Logs directory, Right-Click on it, Compress to Logs.zip and then attach that file?
I’ll see what’s happening.
Thank for your help
Thank you for the logs but they’re unfortunately not useful.
You have ‘Verbose’ logging enabled (not enabled by default) in Settings - Server - General.
This outputs information about every individual block of data sent to each player.
The logs only hold 26 MB by default. The oldest time stamp in your logs is
Feb 24, 2018 04:39:04.434 [0xf3111b40] INFO - Plex Media Server v1.11.3.4803-c40bba82e - synology DiskStation i686 - build: linux-synology-i686 synology - GMT -05:00
Whatever you saw is long gone.
I suggest two things:
- Turn off Verbose immediately and do not turn on again until requested. It serves no useful purpose at stage 1 debugging an is actually detrimental.
- Download and install, from Plex.tv, the 64 bit version (not the 32 bit version you installed from Synology’s Package Center). They have it wrong and don’t seem interested in fixing it.
After making those two changes and restarting DSM, please recreate and capture what you see.
If you can capture the event on an otherwise IDLE PMS, that is most helpful.
Supplemental. I also suggest you turn off IPv6 in both DSM (control panel - network - Network Interace) and (Plex) Settings - server - network unless you absolutely need it. It just makes everything a lot more difficult to work with.
