It appears updates are no longer greyed out on my server with the release of version: 1.30.0.6486.
Has anyone tested this version to see if server settings are working properly again on Mac? Has there been any progress on fixing this?
I was using the current version (1.30.0.6486-629d58034) and was having the same issues. I saw a reference to downgrading, but I was only able to go back to 1.29, which still isn’t working. I’ve tried all of the fixes I could find in ALL of the threads relating to this subject and STILL cannot access my settings. I had to swap out a hard drive and now nothing on that hard drive is visible because I can’t tell Plex to use that drive. What a giant PITA.
Is there any way to download older versions? It seems like that’s the only solution anyone has found that works.
I wish that I had found these threads before I bought my Life subscription. Plex is nearly useless to me now and all I see in the forums is equally frustrated users screaming into the void.

I also crafted a how to do a clean install of PMS on a Mac as part of reporting this bug.
If you backup your ~/Application Support/Plex Media Server directory,
then you can install cleanly and restore your DB later if you have watched states.
If something doesn’t work, screenshot the issue!
Hi. I think it might be a good idea (now the holidays are over) for Plex to state clearly if this problem has been resolved in a later update. There are a lot of Apple machines that are maxed out with High Sierra. Moving Plex to later releases that dont support older apple hardware would result in more and more users lagging behind on old releases - with their only option being to buy a new Mac, (which in todays economic climate is not an option for many people). Over time these people would possibly migrate from Plex - especially if their experience degrades over time. Just my 10 cents…
Yes, the “settings unavailable” issue should be fixed with 1.30.1.
